Gravitas & Gladness - Fall Men's Retreat Promo

This year's theme for men's retreat is "Gravitas & Gladness." Men need to cultivate both in their lives.

Gravitas was once a virtue - it described the weightiness of a mature man's soul; it's a virtue we need to recover in our day. However, gravitas alone tends towards a grave seriousness that sucks all the light from the space around it like a black hole.

True gravitas must be accompanied by gladness; a joy in the Lord that radiates out like the sun. It's the joy of the Lord that creates strength and adds real weight to a man's soul. Men with gravitas and gladness are men who know God's call on their lives as men, as husbands, and as fathers, is to be first in, last out, laughing the loudest.
